Hi, I’m Kay Bounkeua.
I’m a mom to an inspiringly artistic and rambunctious roller skating six year old, wife to an exceedingly patient and enduring husband with an appreciation for self-deprecating humor, and daughter to strong and loving immigrants who journeyed from Laos, across Thailand, and into New Mexico.
I received my master of public health degree from the University of Michigan, served as the first Asian American woman in the New Mexico state legislature, and have over fifteen years of executive leadership experience in local and national nonprofits and boards. I’m a graduate of the Asian Pacific American Women's Leadership Institute, W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Community Leadership Network, and the Clinton's School of Public Service's Racial Healing Certificate Program.
In my spare time, you can find me hosting tea parties for children and stuffed animals alike, running with my dogs along the acequias, and practicing the art of saying 'yes!' to commitments that bring me joy.
